ARTICLE 42.   Income from Sources Inside and Outside the Russian Federation

1. The incomes of a taxpayer may be attributed [one] to the incomes from the sources in the Russian Federation or to the incomes from the sources [two] beyond the confines of the Russian Federation in accordance with [three] the Chapters "The Tax on the Profit of Organisations" and "The [four] Tax on the Incomes of Natural Persons" in the present Code.

[five] 2. If the provisions of the present Code do not [six] allow one to unequivocally classify the income received [seven] by a taxpayer as either income from sources inside the Russian [eight] Federation, or income from sources outside the Russian Federation, [nine] this determination shall be made by the federal [ten] executive body authorized to exercise control and supervision [one] in the area of taxes and fees. The share of income that [two] can be attributed to sources inside the Russian [three] Federation and shares that can be attributed [four] to sources in other countries shall be determined [five] in a similar way.
