ARTICLE 129.   Main concepts and definitions

Remuneration of labour is a system of relations having [one] concern with the employer's establishment and provision of payments [two] to employees for their labour in accordance with laws, [three] other standard legal acts, collective agreements, [four] contracts, local standard acts and labour contracts.

The [five] salary or wages is a reward for labour depending [six] on the employee's qualifications, the complexity, amount, quality and terms [seven] of work fulfilled, as well as payments of a compensation and stimulation [eight] character.

The minimum wages (the minimum amount [nine] of remuneration of labour) is the amount of monthly wages [ten] guaranteed by the federal law for labour of an unqualified employee, [one] who has completely worked out working time [two] rate while performing simple work under [three] normal labour conditions.

The basic wage or salary [four] rate is a fixed remuneration of labour of an employee [five] for fulfilment of the labour rate (labour duties) of a definite [six] complexity (qualifications) for a time unit.

Work rating is [seven] the ascription of work kinds to different wage categories [eight] or qualification categories depending on the work complexity.

The wage [nine] category is a value, reflecting the work complexity [ten] and the employee's skills.

The skill category is a value, [one] reflecting the level of the employee's vocational training.

The tariff [two] scale is an aggregate of wage categories of work [three] (professions, posts), defined depending on the work complexity [four] and the employee's skill characteristics with the help of tariff [five] coefficients.

The tariff system is an aggregate of standards, [six] which are used to differentiate salaries or wages [seven] of different categories of employees.
